The City of Raleigh is currently developing a pedestrian plan to implement a safe, accessible and convenient network of sidewalks, crosswalks, pedestrian signals, trails and other pedestrian facilities throughout the City. The Raleigh Comprehensive Pedestrian Plan’s goal is to increase pedestrian safety, comfort and access in Raleigh and to make Raleigh’s transportation system more environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable.
The City of Raleigh will host the first Open House on June 8, at the Sertoma Arts Center on 1400 W. Millbrook Rd. The public is invited to the Cardinal Room any time between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to learn about the planning process and speak to City staff and the project consultants.
The City encourages all citizens to fill out a pedestrian user survey. In addition to the survey, there is an interactive mapping tool, called CommunityWalk that allows users to zoom into their neighborhood and tell the City about streets and routes that they use and areas where they think improvements are needed.
