A Free Evening of Rock & Roll Featuring: Filmstrip

Filmstrip is a rock and roll band from Cleveland, Ohio, composed of brothers Dave (vocals/guitar) and Matt Taha (bass/vocals), and their lifelong friend Nick Riley (drums). The members of Filmstrip share a long history of playing together in various groups as far back as the mid 90’s, when they were in middle school. Their sound can be loosely categorized under the umbrella of “indie rock”, but the guys prefer the term rock and roll. They draw from a wide variety of genres, with some spacey-psych type stuff (think Sonic Youth, 90’s fuzz) thrown together with more straightforward rockers (a la Clash, Stooges), and some country/americana influences as well (Tom Petty, Neil Young).

Filmstrip has opened for: The Fugs, The Lemonheads, Best Coast, Frankie Rose, The Men, Tapes n Tapes, Bass Drum of Death, Oberhofer, Grass Widow, Gross Relations, Royal Bangs, Those Darlins, Martin Bisi, Shark?, A Place To Bury Strangers, Peelander Z, and fellow Clevelanders Cloud Nothings.

For fans of: Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Nirvana, The National
