With one of the most decisive (and devisive) elections in US history approaching, Bare Theatre presents a fast-paced collection of short works to capture the sometimes humorous, sometimes disturbing implications of following a leader.
The collection raises questions about human nature and looks at the relationship between leaders and followers. It features the Eugene Ionesco play “The Leader” and other vignettes, including a series of clown debates, the myth of lemmings mass suicide, a cult layoff, and a conversation among sperm cells about who among them will produce the greatest human.
Managing Director G. Todd Buker (Much Ado About Nothing, Let Them Be Heard) directs the ensemble, which features Joanna Herath, Loren Armitage, Matthew Hager, Cassandra Wladyslava, Matt Fields, Patrick Cox, Jeff Buckner, Stephen Wall, and Diana McQueen. Additional writing by Chuck Keith and G. Todd Buker, with physical choreography by Jason Bailey and Artistic Director Heather J. Strickland.
