This game against the Pittsburgh Penguins is an important one for the Carolina Hurricanes.
Pittsburgh is first in the Metropolitan Division at 14 points. Carolina is second at 11 – along with the NY Islanders, and just ahead of Columbus and Washington at 10.
This game will allow Carolina to inch a little closer to the top of the division or drop back into the middle of the pack.
Goalie Cam Ward is out for the next two to four weeks. Justin Peters will be in the net. Defenseman Brett Bellemore is also injured and will be sitting out the game.
