Corrosion of Conformity, Raleigh’s best known and most influential heavy metal band, has reformed in what many say was the band’s best line up. Supporting their new self-titled album, Corrosion of Conformity will perform at the Lincoln Theatre on March 3, 2012 along with Torche, Valient Thorr, and A Storm of Light.
Formed in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1982, Corrosion of Conformity now features the Animosity line-up of vocalist/bassist Mike Dean, guitarist Woody Weatherman, and drummer/vocalist Reed Mullin.
Corrosion of Conformity is touring in support of their eighth album, simply called Corrosion of Conformity. The album was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in LA with long-time producer John Custer.
Politically charged with strong influences of Black Sabbath, the band has sold over 1.1 million albums in the United States. The self-titled release on Feb 28th, 2012 for Candlelight Records marks another milestone for the band and is its first album since 2005’s In the Arms of God.
On the new/old line-up, Woody Weatherman comments, “writing and recording this new record as a three-piece was a blast. Having Reed back in the fold with Mike and I brings it around full circle.” Reed Mullin adds, “Mike, Woody and I essentially learned how to play music together and cultivated our own style, sound, and unspoken language. Re-bonding with them musically has been the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.”
