The City of Raleigh Solid Waste Services Department invites area residents and small businesses are to “Shred & Recycle It,” a special opportunity to dispose of documents in a safe and environmentally responsible way.
The event will be held on Earth Day, Saturday, April 20 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Oak Park Shopping Center, 6001 Glenwood Ave. Representatives from ProShred Security will shred and recycle paper on-site and there is no charge for the service.
Residents can protect themselves from identity theft by participating in this special event. Participants are asked to follow these guidelines:
Limit the amount of paper to three bankers’ boxes per person;
Event is open to Raleigh area residents and small businesses only;
Only paper will be accepted, participants do not need to remove staples from paper; and,
Unacceptable materials include paper clips, file folders with metal hangers, trash, binders, CDs, DVDs, cassettes, or other media.
The City of Raleigh Solid Waste Services Department is sponsoring this event along with the North Carolina Department of Justice, ProShred Security, and Oak Park Shopping Center. Throughout the event, representatives from the North Carolina Department of Justice will share information on ways residents can protect themselves from identity theft and scams.
