Flora and Food Trucks

Fairview Greenhouse and Garden Center

Fairview Garden Center has teamed up with several of the most popular food trucks of the Triangle to offer the first-ever “Flora and Food Trucks Series”. These events will be held on Saturday March 30, Saturday April 20, and Saturday May 11 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at 8224 Holly Springs Rd. in Raleigh, North Carolina.

“It’s no secret that local plants and local food go hand in hand” says Fairview Vice President, Brad Rollins. “We want our community to be able to enjoy both.” Residents in Western Wake County will now have the opportunity to experience the gourmet food truck revolution that has taken Durham, RTP and downtown Raleigh by storm.

The idea: an organically grown festival that is run by local businesses, supporting local businesses. The goal of this event is to showcase the importance of locally grown plants and locally prepared food. Event attendees will have the opportunity to attend classes on vegetable gardening or herb gardening as well as receive discounts on plants with a food truck purchase.

The events are family friendly and admission is free. The food trucks will be charging their regular prices for the food offered. Each event day will feature four to five food trucks.

Chirba Chirba Dumpling – Once upon a time, there were 4 friends who loved to make and eat dumplings.  After many trips to foreign lands where much delicious street food was discovered (and eaten), the 4 friends decided to bring their favorite dumplings to the streets to share with all from a food truck.   “We are excited to bring you an Asian street fare food truck specializing in Chinese dumplings. After years of dumpling studies through extensive tasting, pleating, and learning secret family recipes, we have developed a menu that we think you’ll love. ”  @ChirbaChirba

The Humble Pig – We are a husband and wife BBQ slingin’, food truck operatin’ team. We moved to Cary, NC in the summer of  2007, and for the last 5 years we have fallen in love with The Triangle and all it has to offer us and our daughter. In 2011 our family went through a corporate lay off. We decided to make things happen for ourselves this time around & make a change.  We felt the best way to help change what we find to be an ever growing problem was, keep our money as local as possible. We took what was a labor of love for friends and family, and turned it into a business that would try to support us, as well as give back to our community in some small way. @thehumblepig
