Surfaces, the work of John Samosky

Exciting growth is taking place in Raleigh’s Warehouse District. Once an industrial area, it has evolved into the place to be for art in Raleigh with galleries, creative spaces, and a museum. Tipping Paint Gallery has relocated and is now a part of 311 West Martin Street Gallery and Studios family which is now being managed by Carol Joy Shannon (an artist who has been at 311 since 2008).

Within the walls of 311 West Martin Street Gallery and Studios, you will find wonderful art that ranges from realistic to abstract, humorous to serious, reflecting the varied backgrounds and philosophies of the talented artists working here.

This month, the group is excited to welcome John Samosky as guest artist. It has been decades since John’s work has been shown in one place.  “Surfaces” will feature the complex abstracts that have shared his easel with “Sisters” in recent years, as well as “Situations” which look further back in time.
