What began as a simple re-painting was complicated by the discovery of damage beneath the paint\, which led to a modern study of the paint’s history… and finally to a radically different look for the Lane House. Join JLMH Director Lanie Hubbard for a lively exploration that spans the beginnings of Raleigh’s history\, the evolution of preservation science\, and the newest discoveries about Raleigh’s oldest house. A little bit of old-school archaeological digging\, a little bit of newfangled CSI-style forensic analysis\, and a little bit of historical interpretation add up to a brand new (and very old!) color palate.
