Carolina Hurricanes – Home Game against the Red Wings

The Carolina Hurricanes begin the regular season with a home game against perennial powerhouse the Detroit Red Wings.
An “Original Six” team, the Red Wings have won more Stanley Cups than any other U.S. team. The Red Wings’ top players are a little older, too; Henrik Zetterberg is 32 and Pavel Datsyuk is 35.
The Canes will need production on offense from Jiri Tlusty, Jay Harrison and Eric and Jordan Staal. Look for Ryan Murphy to fill the void on the defense left by Joni Pitkanen, who is out for the season with a broken heel. Check out the complete roster here.
