By William Shakespeare and John Fletcher
Co-produced with Bare Theatre
Directed by G. Todd Buker
Bare Theatre returns to RLT’s Stephenson Amphitheatre to explore one of the lesser-known scripts that bears William Shakespeare’s name.
Produced late in Shakespeare’s career, Two Noble Kinsmen was co-written with John Fletcher, another highly regarded playwright of the day. This play is a retelling of Geoffrey Chaucer’s “The Knight’s Tale” from The Canterbury Tales, and it draws a love triangle between two valiant cousins and the woman they both fall madly in love with.
Two Noble Kinsmen will be staged in a unique way – a combination of live action and shadowplay, with backlight providing huge shadow scenery and living shadow backdrops.
This production will reunite Bare Theatre with some of the fire artists from Cirque de Vol Studios and the pyrotechnics crew from last year’s production of The Comedy of Errors.
