Trolley tours leave from Mordecai Historic Park every Saturday, from March through December at 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm and 2 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $4 for child ages 7-17, and free for children 6 and under. The trolley can also be rented for special events and private tours. Event website: raleighnc.gov/mordecai
Denny's Challenge 5K raises funds for the Melanoma Research Foundation. Each year a 5k run/walk is held in honor and memory of Denny Neely, who lost his battle with Melanoma in 2009. Denny's Challenge is the largest race in North Carolina that benefits melanoma research. Event website
