North Carolina has been ranked as the third best state in the country in which to do business, according to a recent CNBC article. Virginia and Texas were ranked 1st and 2nd, respectively.
The ranking was based on a number of criteria. Interesting, North Carolina ranked higher than either Virginia or Texas in both cost of doing business and the quality of the workforce. Unfortunately, NC ranked badly in the health of the overall economy (#41), which appears to be have been the main criteria that held NC back.
