First Friday Jazz Series at Circa 1888

Circa 1888 features jazz music every First Friday. Each show starts at 8:30 pm and is free of charge.

The current calendar is as follows:

August 5th – Bloodworth Combo

Bloodworth Combo is a Raleigh, NC based jazz band who play original and “standard” modern bebop compositions. With roots in 60’s bebop jazz, indie rock, current/classical, and world music, Bloodworth Combo is full of energy and excitement, appealing to an inter-generational audience of music lovers.

Members of the Bloodworth Combo play in some of the most noted and influential bands based in the area. With wide range, Bloodworth Combo’s list of associated acts is a who’s who of cutting edge popular music that informs the combo’s thrilling sound.

The core of Bloodworth Combo’s personnel is: Mike Isenberg, Steve Cowles, Joe Westerlund, Christopher Thurston and Robert ‘Crowmeat’ Pence.
