Michael Cyzewski, clarinet; Mary Boone, flute; Victor Benedict, bassoon; Sandra Posch, oboe; Rachel Niketopoulos, horn; John Noel, piano

The work of the celebrated French sculptor Auguste Rodin has become a highlight of the NCMA experience and informs this special program of French music by Symphony Winds, a quintet composed of assistant principal wind players from the North Carolina Symphony, with John Noel on piano.

The program features works by French composers Ibert, Milhaud, Francaix, and Poulenc, all contemporaries of Rodin and, with the exception of Poulenc, teachers and students at the Paris Conservatoire. The ensemble hews closely to the techniques developed by these French masters.

Docent-led tours of featured works of art are offered at 1:45 pm. Tour reservations are required by Friday prior to the concert. For reservations, contact Christine Molesky, Assistant Coordinator of Adult Programs, at (919) 664-6785, or by email.

Sights and Sounds on Sundays is funded, in part, by the City of Raleigh, based on recommendations of the Raleigh Arts Commission; and by the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County, with funds from the United Arts Campaign; as well as by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources.
