April 22, 2017

Raleigh City Farm, a community-supported urban farm and host to several next generation farmers, is commemorating its fifth anniversary with a day of activities on Saturday, April 22, 2017, which is also Earth Day. This annual event builds awareness for Raleigh’s diverse and collaborative network of environmentally responsible partnerships who help make Raleigh one of the nation’s most desirable places to live. It is also designed to update the community on Raleigh City Farm’s newly revised mission to grow the next generation of farmers by connecting our community to sustainable agriculture.

Bearthday” events that day will include a FREE, family-friendly morning bazaar from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm complete with farm tours, local vendors such as Bee Better and CompostNow, entertainment provided by The Awesomettes, activities for children led by Piedmont Picnic Project, breakfast burritos made by Fiction Kitchen (for purchase), and “Bearthday” cupcakes. The TICKETED evening fundraiser from 6:00 – 10:00 pm will feature local band Milagro Saints with special guests Caroline Mamoulides & Steve Howell of the band Pinto, as well as additional food and beverage provided by event partners and sponsors.
